This is a UK-supplied Series I Jaguar E-type 3.8 fixed-head coupe, finished in its original shade of Opalescent Silver Blue, with a black interior and manual gearbox. It has been in the same family for 54 years, and the V5C shows just 3 former keepers. The odometer displays 83,941 miles.
The history file shows that an extensive nut-and-bolt restoration was undertaken around 20 years ago. More recently, in 2024 a total of £4896 was spent on various improvements including a new exhaust manifold, head gasket set and a full service. The car has been used regularly for classic car shows and rallies, and once featured prominently on the cover of Classic Cars magazine. Its last 3 MoTs were all passed with no advisories; the latest expired in 2018, although as a historic vehicle it is exempt from testing requirements. In addition to its receipts from 2004-on, the car is supplied with photos taken during its restoration, old MoT certificates and an original service manual. It was first registered on 12th April 1961.
The vendor inherited the E-type from his father, a local farmer who purchased the car in 1972. We're told that after harvest time he could sometimes be witnessed racing it around his stubble fields.
